World Environmental Day is observed on June 5th every year in more than 100 countries . It is an opportunity to raise awareness and promote action on national environmental issues. First held in 1974 , it has been a flagship campaign for raising awareness on emerging environmental issues from marine pollution , human overpopulation and global warming to sustainable consumption and wildlife crime. The day is organized around a theme that draws attention to a particular pressing environmental concern every year . The theme for 2019 is “BEAT AIR POLLUTION”. “CREATE AN ATMOSPHERE IN WHICH ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE “ We the cadets of B1-Flight Bishop Heber College celebrated World Environmental Day associated with Dept of Botany . A lecture on saving and conserving nature was given by Dr. D. Paul Dhayabaran and a special guest lecture was given by Dr.Indra from ISHA Yoga Institute along with our ANO Dr.M. Immanuel Sahayaraj followed by the tree plantation at St. John’s Church , Trichy. The cadets gained ample of information about conserving nature and saving the environment . We thank our ANO for arranging such an informative session and opportunity giving to plant saplings .
