Dean, International Relations

Dr. K. Rajkumar works in the Department of Computer Science since June 1993 and serves as a Head, Department of Data Science as well as Dean, International Relations at Bishop Heber College (Autonomous), Tiruchirappalli. Previously, Rajkumar worked for King Faisal University, Saudi Arabia in the Faculty of Computer Science and IT where he taught ABET (USA) accredited BS and MS programmes.

He received the B.Sc Computer Science and M.Sc Computer Science degrees in the year 1991 and 1993 from Bishop Heber College. He had also received his M.Phil Computer Science from then Regional Engineering College, Tiruchirappalli. Rajkumar graduated his Ph.D degree in Computer Applications from National Institute of Technology - Tiruchirappalli, India, in the year 2007.

Rajkumar visited many countries including UK, USA, Germany, Japan, Slovakia, Thailand, Austria, Malaysia, Indonesia and all Gulf countries in pursuance of teaching and research activities. His research primarily lies at the confluence of Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Multimedia and Web Retrieval, Collective and collaborative Intelligence.

Rajkumar has published several high impact papers in refereed journals from IEEE, Springer, Elsevier, Taylor and Francis and international conferences. He serves as a referee to journals, including IEEE Trans. MM, IEEE Trans. HMS, IEEE Trans. BME, ACM Trans. MCCA, Springer MTAP and Springer JMUI. Rajkumar is also a Technical Program Committee member of several international conferences.

He is the author of a widely followed book titled, Java Programming, published by Pearson and has edited a volume for Springer LNCS - Germany. Rajkumar has also edited a book for IGI Global - USA titled, Managing and Processing Big Data in Cloud Computing. Rajkumar is a senior member of ACM - USA and a life member of CSI - India and ISTE - India.
