Dr. S. Sobana, Dean of Arts is Associate Professor of English, and is also heading the department from 2013. She earned her doctoral degree in English in 2008 from Bharathidasan University.
She joined at Bishop Heber College as Assistant Professor in the year 1994 and has earned teaching experience of 27 years till 2021. She produced three doctorates in English language and Literature. She has convened and organized conferences and workshops at the national and international level, and has published 16 research articles in Peer Reviewed / International Journals.
She has been the Chief Editor of the ISSN registered in-house journal Literary Explorer from 2013, and has also compiled text books for the General English students of the College. She serves as a member of the Board of Studies of colleges in the Bharathidasan University jurisdiction.
