Description | Large deciduous tree up to 15-20 m tall, Bark brown. Stem large and buttressed. Leaves, compound, pinnate, rachis 30-50cm long, pinna 20-40 pairs petiole pulvinus. Inflorescence corymb. Flowers complete, large, pentamerous, bisexual, calyx ovate-lanceolate, green outer side and red inner side, polysepalous; petals 5, clawed, with four scarlets to orange red, standard petal up right marked with yellow and white. Fruit pod, 60cm long, woody, dark brown to black upon dry. Seeds small, hard to break, germinated after exposed to fire. |
