Faculty of the Department
On board the department has committed and versatile professors in the fields of Operations Research, Differential Equations, Stochastic Processes, Numerical Analysis, Graph Theory, Fuzzy Application, etc., On the whole there are thirty-eight faculty members. All the members are qualified as per UGC norms. Currently ten research guides are guiding their research scholars exceptionally well in the fields of Applied Mathematics and Pure Mathematics.

Academic Excellence
The Department offers well updated and integrated model curriculum designed by internal and external experts.
UG programme comprises 12 core, 3 elective, 4 allied subjects and a group project.
PG programme comprises 14 core, 5 elective and an individual research project.

Research
The main strength of our department is research. As on date the department has ten research supervisors. All are guiding research scholars in different thrust areas like Operations Research, Data Envelopment Analysis, Numerical Analysis, Differential Equations, Fuzzy Applications, Graph Theory, Stochastic process etc., Our faculty do have International Research Collaboration since 2000. 42 Scholars received their doctoral degrees and 24 scholars are pursuing.

National Recognition
The Department was awarded twice with the prestigious DST - FIST grant (2005 & 2016). Recently, the Department, along with the other four Departments of Basic Sciences is defined as a STAR Department by the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India, under the STAR College Scheme.
