Dr.D.Paul Dhayabaran
Principal

Dr. D.Paul Dhayabaran is the Principal of Bishop Heber College, Trichy and he is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mathematics. He was born on September 15th, 1963. He successfully completed M.Sc. (Applied Mathematics), PGDCA and M.Phil. (Mathematics) at Bishop Heber College, Trichy. He finished his Ph.D. at the National Institute of Technology, Trichy. His educational qualifications include a Certificate Course on German language at Maxmuller Bhavan, Chennai. He has held various positions as Bursar and Programme Officer in the National Service Scheme.

Dr. Paul Dhayabaran’s areas of specialization are Differential Equations, Computational Mathematics, Operational Research and Graph Theory. He has been teaching for twenty five years in Bishop Heber College, Trichy. He has an overseas teaching experience of about three years and eight months, having worked in Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS), Dubai. He has visited different countries, namely, Singapore, UAE, United Kingdom, France and the United States of America.

Dr. Paul Dhayabaran has published fifteen papers in reputed International Journals. He has published three papers in the proceedings of International conferences. He has attended six International and nine National Conferences, Workshops and Symposiums. He has attended four Refresher, Orientation and Short term courses as well. He has published one book entitled Remedial Mathematics for the B.E. Biotech Students at BITS, Dubai. He has also carried out Collaborative Research along with his Research Guide, Dr. K. Murugesan (NITT) and Dr. D.J. Evans, Professor of Computing, Nottingham Trent University, UK, and has published seven papers. He has successfully guided one scholar towards his Ph.D. and has been guiding three students for their Ph.D. degrees. Five of his wards have completed their M.Phil under his guidance.

Dr. Paul Dhayabaran’s extra-curricular activities include Music and Elocution (at school). He represented his school in Hockey and also participated and won prizes in Staff Tennis and cricket Tournaments.

Dr. Paul Dhayabaran’s firm attitude towards the academic rigor promoted the institution to rank IV among Arts and Science colleges in India by the Ministry of Human Resource Development through NIRF (National Institutional Ranking Framework). His competence and ability enveloped with a mission lead the college to greater heights like being recognized by the UGC as “College of Excellence” the first among the affiliated Colleges in Bharathidasan University to hold the title. He is a humble leader. He has great passion for teaching. With immense vision he leads Bishop Heber College, Trichy.

Prof. A. ALAGAPPA MOSES is an Associate Professor and Head in the Post Graduate and Research Department of Environmental Sciences, Bishop Heber College, Tiruchirappalli since 6 th August 1986 to till date.

He is a Functional Area Expert accredited by the Quality Council of India (QCI) – National Accreditation Board for Education and Training (NABET) as Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Empanelled Functional Area Expert (FAE) in the field of Ecology and Biodiversity (EB) for Category ‘A’ Projects.

He is a member of the District Environmental Impact Assessment Authority (DEIAA) for grant of Environmental Clearance for “B2” projects for mining of minor minerals in Tiruchirappalli District.

He served as Principal Investigator and Co-Principal Investigator in Integrated Environmental Research Programme on River Cauvery (1989 to 1992), Inventory of Point and non-Point sources of Pollution in River Cauvery from Hogainackal to Poompuhar (1990 – 1992), Water Quality Monitoring Programme in River Cauvery (1997 – 2003) and Environmental Assessment of Kalrayan Hills using RS and GIS, Eastern Ghats, Tamilnadu (1999 – 2002) sponsored by the Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change, Govt. of India, New Delhi and Pudukkottai Fishermen Community Development Project (1991 – 1994) sponsored by World Vision of India.

He served as the Co-Ordinator – India in the project “United Board Heber Partnership for Environmental Action” a joint project of the United Board for Christian Higher Education in Asia, Hong Kong and Bishop Heber College, Tiruchirappalli from 2009 to 2016. He has

He has organized several Capacity Building Programmes in Campus Environmental Audit (CEA) / Green Audit and conducted / facilitated Campus Green Audit for various Colleges, Universities and Schools.

His special fields of interest include Ecology and Biodiversity, Wastewater Engineering, Environmental Impact Assessment, Environmental Audit and Environmental Management. He has delivered several lectures in various academic forums and has organized several Environmental Conferences, Workshops and Seminars at National and International level. He has published 4 books and more than 85 research papers in reputed journals.

He was a Guest faculty teaching Environmental Impact Assessment for M. Tech Environmental Engineering, Department of Civil Engineering, National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli from January to May 2017.

He has participated in several Environmental Management programmes in The Netherlands (1987), France (1987), Italy (1987) USA (1998) and Thailand (2010) and underwent courses in Land Resources, Conservation biology, Global Environmental Development and Environmental Sustainability in Au Sable Institute of Environmental Studies, Michigan, USA and Watershed Management in Alabama, USA.

Vice-Principal(Self-Finance)

Dr. J. G. R. Sathiaseelan, Vice Principal & Head, Research Department of Computer Science, has rich experience in both teaching & administration for almost three decades in Bishop Heber College, Tiruchirappalli. He is also the coordinator for Computer Science, Computer Applications & IT Departments.He is also the Dean for Staff and Students Council. He has produced 20 M.Phil. and eleven Ph.D. scholars with more than 40 research articles covering the research fields such as Web Engineering, Big Data Analytics, Cloud Computing, Data Mining and Digital Image Processing which were published in ACM, IEEE, Science Direct, Scopus Indexed Journals and WoS.

Dr. Sathiaseelan has authored a book titled, “Programming in C#.Net”, which was published by PHI, New Delhi, in 2009. He is the chairman for the Board of Studies in Computer Science, Bishop Heber College, also the member of Board of Studies in various autonomous colleges including Bharathidasan University. He organized “International Conference on Computing Communication and Information Science” (ICCCIS’16). He has been invited as a Keynote Speaker for both international and national level conferences, organised by various colleges in India. He is also frequently invited by other faculty as a Chief Guest for different forums including seminars. He has made academic audit visits to few reputed colleges including Lady Doak College, Madurai.

Dr. Sathiaseelan has also made overseas visits around the world such as Singapore, Malaysia, USA, Germany and South Korea for academic purpose. He is a versatile musician who is playing violin for about 4 decades, can compose music and also play other musical instruments like guitar, piano and so on.





Dr. G. Gnanaraj

Dr.Gnanaraj is an alumnus of the college doing his B.A. in Corporate Secretaryship during 1981-84. He did his schooling from the Sainik School, Amaravathi nagar, and his post graduation in Commerce from the PSG College of Arts and Science, Coimbatore. He did his Ph.D. in Commerce as a Junior Research Fellow of the UGC from the Madurai Kamaraj University.

He joined Bishop Heber in 2000 January, prior to which he was working in Bishop Thorp College, Dharapuram. He has published and presented papers in conferences and seminars and has coauthored a book on 'Financial Services'. His area of specialization is Organisational Behavior and his Ph.D. was on Job Stress.
